Denim Wash Shrinkage and Measurement Control
MATERIAL & PROCESS CONTROL · APPROVE THE GARMENT AND THE WASH RESULT
Denim washing changes shade, hand feel and measurements. Construction approval before washing is not enough; the finished washed sample must also be reviewed.
Related real archive evidence is used to explain the control method; images are not automatically claimed to be one exact order unless the page states so.
Set a wash reference
We confirm base denim, weight, stretch, target shade, abrasion or distressing and any intentional variation. A physical sample is more reliable than a screen image for critical color.
Measure after the relevant process
Shrinkage can affect chest, length, sleeve, waist, rise and inseam. The approved washed sample and post-wash measurements become the reference.
Inspect function and damage
Hardware, seams, embroidery, pockets and labels are checked after washing. Intentional wear is documented; uncontrolled holes, broken hardware or measurements outside the agreed tolerance are corrected or rejected.
Buyer checklist
- Confirm denim composition and stretch.
- Approve wash shade/range.
- Measure the processed sample.
- Document intentional distressing and acceptable variation.
Frequently asked question
Will every washed garment be exactly the same shade?
No. Controlled variation is part of many wash effects. The approved range should distinguish acceptable character from a defect.
